Power Infrastructure

Power remains one of the key challenges facing most projects, particularly in remote areas where many mining and resources project operate.  For clients with projects in emerging markets, the problem is particularly acute.  Power infrastructure is a key focus for the Hunt & Humphry team, having advised on small and large power developments from greenfield gas to captive diesel and coal projects.

Our team also has extensive experience in renewable energy projects (including solar, wind, geothermal and hydro).

Members of the Hunt & Humphry team have advised on the project development, corporate and commercial issues and financing of power projects such as:

  • developing a large scale solar project in Western Australia to provide capacity to mining companies
  • advising an Australian mining company in relation to its captive solar and diesel project in West Africa
  • advising the developer of an ASX listed junior mining company in relation a power project in Madagascar
  • advising the developers of a 126MW gas fired independent power project in Ghana
  • acquisition and project development of US$450m combined cycle gas turbine power project in Ghana
  • advising the developers of four solar projects in Nigeria
